Wellness without fuss

Spotlight is a features piece that shines a light on a local business, start-up, or non-profit with notes from the founder / CEO. In honor of National Stress Awareness Month, the team spoke to co-founders of wellness studio Prana House.

Prana House is a wellness haven nestled in the Apex Atrium, waiting to welcome and support wellness aficionados. From how the idea of Prana House came to be, their interior design, a wide selection of classes, and what’s in store for the future — this interview covers it all.

How it started

The idea of Prana House first evolved when founders Gitanjali and Rupali set out to become qualified in various holistic modalities. This ultimately led them to the realization that “there was a need for a welcoming space dedicated to holistic wellness.” As a result, the founders embarked on a new journey to fill this gap themselves and “decided to establish Prana House as a sanctuary where individuals could explore holistic practices and feel a sense of belonging.”

Having visited the studio myself a few times, I can confirm that Prana House stays true to its intended vision. Their interiors evoke a sense of tranquility, making you feel immediately calm when you step foot inside. Upon entering, you’re requested to take off your shoes as you’re greeted by one of their administrative staff. The further in you walk a lovely living area is quickly revealed where you can relax in before or after a class.

During the interview, I was interested to know what was in mind when Prana House was being designed and how this sense of community is fostered. The founders explained to me, “our studio is designed as a peaceful sanctuary providing a thoughtfully constructed space ideal for self-discovery and inner reflection…we strive to ensure that every person who walks through the doors feels a sense of belonging and connection to our community.” When embarking on one’s own wellness journey, it’s imperative to have a place where you feel supported, thereby encouraging growth and healing. Prana House’s founders identified the need for a space like this and have definitely established a serene studio for individuals.

Why it’s special

Aside from the thoughtfully designed interiors, at Prana House, there are a myriad of classes, workshops, certifications, and 1:1 sessions offered across a broad range of areas. As a result, there is something for everyone and anyone of any skill level. Their decision-making process in regard to what experiences they would like to host at the studio is driven by the founder’s “commitment to offering diverse and enriching experiences” to individuals. Their main objective “is to curate a dynamic schedule that inspires personal growth, exploration and well-being for everyone.”

Not only is the wellness sanctuary’s calendar generously filled with various classes, but they also host certification courses and workshops throughout each month, committed to being a place for individuals to satisfy their curiosities on any topic or further their skills. All while creating that sense of community for individuals to feel supported and even meet other individuals on journeys of their own. If you’re looking to try your first Yin Yoga class or have a 1:1 Reiki healing session, maybe you’re a recently certified practitioner looking for a peaceful environment to teach your classes; regardless of the reason, Prana House will definitely welcome you into their community with open arms.

Taking that first step towards growth and healing can be difficult and nerve-wracking, so it’s important to have support and guidance throughout the journey. If you’ve been wanting to book that first wellness experience but may be hesitant to fully step into that door, the co-founders have some advice for you. “Go for it…everyone will walk away with a different experience, and that’s what makes holistic wellness so special.”Wellness is not a one-size-fits-all scenario. It’s all about creating stronger connections, learning to listen to yourself, and discovering what makes you feel like the best version of yourself. Ultimately, it’s about taking that, dare I say it, much-required me-time we often forget to do.

The Future of Prana House

I was curious to know what was next on the agenda for Prana House. The founders expressed their desire “to continue to attract people from all walks of life to come together and explore holistic wellness” as well as continue “building and touching lives through the profound impact of holistic practices.”

To wrap up, at Prana House you could start your wellness journey’s by going for a “Somatic Movement Therapy, or Anxiety Relief Yoga or Yin Yoga.” However, the class you choose isn’t the hard part, it’s making that conscious decision to prioritize yourself and simply start; in that decision, you’ve won half your wellness battle.

I think it’s also safe to say, from this interview, Prana House’s future is as bright as their signature yellow hue.
