Half-Light Magazine was founded by Haniya Khalid in 2023 as a way to combine her passion for creative nonfiction, journalism, and community events. Since its inception, it has grown into a dynamic team of eight, including an art director and a dedicated editorial team. Operating across UAE, US, and UK, the team brings together a rich diversity of experience and perspectives.

Small, intimate events are hosted (typically in Dubai, UAE) to commemorate alternating issues, often celebrating themes and topics close to the team’s heart. Every volume showcases work from both the Half-Light team and guest writers.

The magazine is open for submission, welcoming writers from around the world. 

Both the magazine and events are free of charge, reflecting the organization’s commitment to nurturing their local arts community.
